Think SMS might be right for you? Contact us for a guided tour of our SMS-enabled demo
site. We'll let you see how easy it is to use SMS to control your website.
Membership Management Services
As do the other services, MMS operates under the SMS umbrella and can be configured as needed to meet
the goals of your particular website. You tell us what your operational processes are and we customize
MMS appropriately. The MMS modules in SMS allow you to manage various aspects of your membership
databases. Remember, "member" is loosely defined and can relate to any group of people who
share a common interest. As with all SMS interfaces, MMS uses a combination of fill-in-the blank,
checkboxes and buttons, and a Microsoft-Word-like editor to support your maintenance activities, including
uploading files and images.
MMS Features
| Directory |
The directory is
a repository for detailed information about your members. This
includes the obvious data such as names, addresses, telephone number,
email addresses, etc. It also allows you to track related
information such as membership type, renewal date, newsletter-by-email
participation, show/hide individual member listing, bounced email codes,
identification of the roles within the organization the individual
member perform (director, committee chair, etc.), and other information
valuable to your organization. The directory is the core MMS
resource that controls each member's participation in the public portion
of your web site. In this regard, when we refer to the "public"
website, there still may be sections of the web site that require your
member to log on to participate. Indeed, if you choose, access to
your entire public site could controlled by a member logon. You
can elect whether to allow, and to what extent, a member can edit
his/her directory profile via your site. You can generate printer
friendly version of the directory in real time. There are
specialized versions of the directory for homeowner associations and
daily newsletter advocacy groups. If you have a specialized need,
we can build a version tailored just for you! |
| Calendar |
The calendar
function is where you enter the details about upcoming events.
This is a powerful feature which allows you to post as much information
about the event as you require. In addition to the obvious entries
(event name, start date, location, etc.), if you elect to, you can use
the built-in editor to post enhanced text and images, links to printable
registration forms, links to maps to the location, etc. The
calendar entries can be displayed on your public site in a number of
different layouts. |
| AutoEmailer |
This function
allows you to send emails to anyone in the directory. You can send
emails to everyone in the directory or send by role or membership type.
Your email messages are embedded into an HTML enhanced template custom
designed for your organization. The autoemailer honors the
member's newsletter opt-in status for those who choose not to
participate. |
| Contact |
Large
organizations often need a way to manage the list of contact information
for members who hold leadership positions and/or participate on a
committee. The contact function allows you to manage an unlimited
number of individual contact lists. These lists are often
displayed on the public website. |
| Job Bank |
Many
organizations
provide a job bank service for their membership. You use the Job
Bank function to manage those postings. Alternatively, you can
allow the members to self manage his/her individual postings on the
public site. You set the sunset interval, typically 90 days, that
controls the maximum time a position can be advertised. |
| Vendor Listings |
Some
organizations provide a vendor listing page on the public website.
You might sell these listings to the vendors or provide them as a
benefit of being a sustaining sponsor. The Vendor function is
where you construct the vendor's ad based on inputs supplied by the
vendor. These ads can be simple text based ad or fully enhanced
with HTML. Camden Place is often called upon to construct more
complex ads that some vendors want. |
| Email Addresses |
Your website
includes email services. If you have a large number of email
accounts associate with your site, the optional Email Address function
allows you to keep track of the email addresses and passwords or email
aliases. |
| Votes |
Voting is tied to
membership ids and can be used for managing binding votes such as a vote
on an organization's bylaws, board of director elections, salary
surveys, etc. Note, even though votes are tied to
membership ids to enforce one vote per member per vote, the voting
results are generally tallied in the aggregate. If required for
audit purposes, the results can be supplied in a personably
identifiable format. |

Content Management Services for a discussion of
other services that can be added to your SMS configuration. |
Reminder: SMS is an optional set of services for those clients needing
advanced capabilities. Clients with smaller or less
volatile sites typically elect to have us perform all maintenance activities.
